Not on the news. No foundation. No National Day of Appreciation.

Just the person giving you a pedicure on a Tuesday like it is completely normal to spend their day making other people feel good about their feet. The mail carrier who knows every dog on the route by name and delivers through rain and heat and the kind of cold that should be illegal. The garbage collector who shows up at 6am before the neighborhood is awake so you never have to think about where your trash goes. The government worker who showed up during the shutdown — unpaid, unacknowledged, uncertain when the next check was coming — because the job still needed doing and somebody had to do it.

The cashier who has smiled at strangers for eight hours straight. The school cafeteria worker who knows which kid doesn’t have lunch money and quietly makes sure they eat anyway. The janitor who cleans up after everyone and gets thanked by almost no one. The DMV worker surviving on sheer willpower and fluorescent lighting. The postal worker, the sanitation worker, the parks worker, the crossing guard standing in the rain making sure everyone gets across safely.

They are not unsung because they are less important. They are unsung because we got used to them. We got used to the mail arriving and the trash disappearing and the roads being maintained and the offices being clean and all the invisible infrastructure of daily life that only becomes visible when it stops.

It does not stop because they do not stop.

Reporting for Brew-ty is for EVERY service worker who has ever clocked in, suited up, and just handled it — without recognition, without fanfare, without nearly enough people stopping to say THANK YOU for the thing you do that makes my life work.

Ten percent of every sale goes to service worker support organizations — because they have been showing up for us for long enough and it is time we showed up for them.
