They showed up when the world shut down.

When everyone else was home in pajamas stress baking sourdough and figuring out Zoom, they put on their scrubs, their PPE, their N95s that left marks on their faces for days, and they walked into buildings that were full of the thing everyone else was hiding from. They did it scared sometimes. They did it exhausted ALWAYS. They did it without enough supplies, without enough support, and without nearly enough people acknowledging what it was actually costing them.

They held the hands of patients whose families could not be there. They made phone calls nobody should ever have to make. They went home and stood in their driveways disinfecting themselves before they could hug their own kids because they did not want to bring it inside. And then they went back the next day and did it again.

And then — after all of that — they were told get vaccinated or lose your job. As if the choice was simple. As if they had not already given everything.

Code Brew is for every doctor, nurse, paramedic, EMT, technician, aide, and healthcare worker who has ever run a code, pulled a double, skipped a lunch break, cried in a supply closet (just like we are right now talking about them), and somehow found the strength to walk back out and keep going. The ones GRINDING through impossible shifts under impossible guidelines making impossible decisions and doing it with a level of skill and compassion that most people will never fully appreciate.

They did not sign up for easy. They signed up to help. And they showed up EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
